"Batwing" Typewriter
The Oliver No. 9 Standard Visible Typewriter was also known as the "batwing" due to the style unique typebar arrangement.

This model from the Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site was heavily soiled and corroded prior to treatment.
Treatment steps included disassembling the many moving components and manually cleaning the metal corrosion. Cleaned surfaces were then treated with a corrosion inhibitor and coating to protect from future degradation and then all the pieces were reassembled back to working order.
